Content Removal and Takedown Requests
Last Updated: 9/10/2026
This page is how to get something removed from Cosmix: a profile, a message, a photograph, or an account. Our Acceptable Use Policy says what is not allowed. Our Trust and Safety Protocols say how we enforce it. This page is the door.
You do not need a Cosmix account to ask us to remove something.
1. If you use Cosmix, report it in the app
This is the fastest route and the one we prefer, because the report arrives with the account attached and nothing has to be identified by hand.
The Report control sits on every profile card and in every conversation. Choose the reason that fits: sexual or explicit content, child safety or exploitation, an underage user, trafficking or solicitation, a fake profile or scam, a profile that does not match its photographs, multiple accounts, or Other, with a description box for anything the list does not cover.
Reporting also blocks. The person is removed from your feed and your conversations the moment you submit, before anybody has reviewed anything. You will not see each other again. You do not have to keep seeing somebody in order to report them.
2. If you do not use Cosmix
Write to safety@cosmixpairing.com. This is the route for anybody who is not a member: somebody whose photograph is on a profile they did not create, a parent, a friend, or anyone else who has seen something on our platform that should not be there.
Tell us:
- What you want removed, as precisely as you can. A first name and a photograph description is usually enough, since our profiles are small; a link or a screenshot is better.
- Why it breaks our rules, in your own words. You do not need to name a clause.
- Your relationship to it, if it is about you or about somebody you are responsible for.
- How to reach you, if you would like to hear what happened.
You may ask us to withhold your identity from the person you are reporting, and we will, unless the law requires otherwise.
3. If somebody is using your photograph or your identity
Every Cosmix account must pass identity verification, in which a live selfie is matched against the account's own profile photograph, so a profile built from somebody else's pictures is not supposed to be usable here. If you find one anyway, write to safety@cosmixpairing.com with Impersonation in the subject line and a description of the profile.
You do not need to prove who you are before we look. If we need something to be sure, we will ask, and we will ask for the least we can work with.
4. Intellectual property claims
Send claims of copyright or trademark infringement to info@cosmixpairing.com with Intellectual Property Claim in the subject line. A notice we can act on should include:
- Identification of the work you say is infringed.
- Identification of the material on Cosmix you want removed, precisely enough for us to find it.
- Your contact details.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or authorized to act for them.
- Your signature, electronic or physical.
5. What happens after you submit
Every report is recorded with its category, your description, and the account it concerns.
It is analyzed immediately. Before a person sees it, the report is examined against the reported profile and the conversation, and a category, a confidence assessment, and the specific evidence relied on are attached to it.
A person reviews it. Every report reaches our moderation team. Reports of sexual or explicit content, child safety or exploitation, an underage user, or trafficking or solicitation can never be closed automatically: automation may gather evidence and may remove the account from view immediately, but only a person can decide one of these. Reports involving a minor are prioritized above all other work.
Within 24 hours. We act on reported content within 24 hours, as our Terms of Service commit us to.
What removal means. Containment first, because it can be undone and lost time cannot: the account comes out of matching straight away so nobody new is shown it. Then the content is removed, and the account is permanently banned. A banned account cannot sign in, cannot be matched with anybody, and evading a ban is itself a violation. Where conduct may be criminal we preserve the account and its contents instead of deleting them, and refer it. Where a minor is involved we report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
6. If we removed something of yours
Write to support@cosmixpairing.com and tell us what was removed and why you think that was wrong. We keep the reason, the evidence, and the decision for every action we take, so there is something to review rather than a memory of it. An administrator can reinstate an account where a review finds the removal was a mistake.
Some removals are not reversible on request. We do not restore accounts removed for child sexual exploitation.
7. Emergencies
If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. We cannot dispatch help. In the United States, the National Human Trafficking Hotline is 1-888-373-7888.
Law enforcement should use our Law Enforcement Guidelines, which set out the legal process each kind of record requires and how we handle emergency disclosure and preservation.
